Midnight leads the way

Midnight heard Star's words, but she did not reply. Her mind was focused away. Blinking, she saw Kiba getting up. She watched as the tom started to dig more room for the coming kits. Midnight knew she could help, but she took the exscuse of eating. She loved the way the tom moved, it was so graceful... Midnight sighed and then thought about staying. "I think I...," she began, still half-sure of her answer.

Kiba stopped and his ears pricked up. He looked over at Midnight. Her black pelt seamed to glow in the sun's light. She was the most beautiful cat he had ever seen and really hopped she would choose to stay with them. Kiba stayed silent as he waited for Midnight to finish her sentance.

Star's ears cocked up as well. Had she missed something? It seemed like her brother had asked Midnight something. He sure seemed eager to hear her answer. She wondered what in the world he could have asked her that made his so excited. She had never sean her brother this way before.

Midnight's tail twitched in embarrassment as the two cats paid direct attention to her. Midnight wanted to take another bite of fish, there were only about three left, but that would seem rude since she had not finished her sentence. "Have decided," she began again, and hesitated once again. Am I sure about this? she thought. Could she really be giving up her true loner life? Will she now be helping care for kits, and living with her newly found friends? Maybe. "If I will stay or not," she finished her sentence. She knew she should have said yes or no right then, but now she stalled once again. She waited patiently for Kiba to reply with "well?" or "go on," or something like that, to let her continue.

Kiba waited for a few minutes but when Midnight didn't continue he couldn't hold back his question. "What have you decided?" Everything lied on this answer. He couldn't even think about if she said no it would be to terrible. He let out a sigh and looked Midnight into the eyes. "Before you decide I want you to know that though we just met it feels like I have known you forever. And weather you choose to stay or go you will always be welcomed here."

Star purred softly realization finely coming to her. She finely understood why her brother was acting the way he was. He was falling in love with Midnight, and by the sound of it he had fallen hard. She wanted to laugh out loud but held it in. Instead she stepped forward and nodded. "He's right I feel like I know you already as well and can tell we shall be great friends."

Midnight was waiting, but she need no more when Kiba spoke. At first, she had almost opened her mouth to reply, then Kiba started again. Her eyes widened a bit in shock of the wonderful gratefulness of his speech. She was about to talk again when Star spoke. Midnight quickly licked her chest, hiding her embarrassment. When she looked up, she gazed into Kiba's eyes. They are so prtty... "Th... thank you," Midnight murmered, then looked down again. After two heartbeats, she gazed back into his eyes. "I feel liek I know you both two," she completed. "And I have decided...," she paused to give drama, but also to re-run her desicion through her head. Yes, this is it... she thought, then mewed, "To stay."

Kiba's eyes widened in excitment. This is what he was hopping for. Things couldn`t get any better than if his sister had her kits tomorrow. "Thank you! You will not regret this decision I promise." Kiba's heart was beating so fast it felt like it would jump right out of his chest at any moment. :I guess I should get to work on the den. Midnight can you work on the nursery side while I work on the other side for me and you so we don't bother Star and her kits when there born."

Star purred excitedly "This is just wonderful news." Star padded over to Midnight and set her tail on her shoulder. "Welcome to the family."
