Rainstar's eyes opened slowly as the sunlight flowed into the den. She yawned quietly before getting up and grooming herself. Although it was almost leaf bare today was a warmer day, she thought to herself as she licked down the hairs on her pelt that had come up during her sleep. She walked out of her den the last bit of sleep she had on her falling off as she reached the camp. A patrol was just leaving and she decided to get a bite to eat before taking on her duties as leader of RiverClan. She smiled to herself as she bit into a juicy vole. |

Leafkit mewed softly, jumping up after a lef and landing in a clump of weeds. She got up, shaking herself. Turning her head, she saw her leader. "Wainstawr!" she cried happily, and started to pad towards her. She tripped, falling on her nose at Rainstar's feet. She put her head up hopefuly, wondering if her leader would tell ehr a story.

Rainstar smiled when she seen little Leafkit coming towards her. "Hey there Leafkit."She wondered where Leafkits mother was. |

"Hwi," the kit mewed. She looked left and right, searching for something to play with. "Woo pway wif mwe?" she asked excitedly, wanting to play with her leader!

Rainstar smiled even brighter at the kits desire to play. She nodded and stood up "OK, what would you like to play leafkit?"She asked as she streched. |

Leafkit smiled. "Pway wif leadwr? Way!" she laughed as she stood up. Looking around camp, she decided she wanted to play with a moss ball. She trotted over and picked one up, then turned to Rainstar. "Cwatch!" she cried as she flung it at her leader.

Rainstar was glad Leafkit was excited to play with her. She caught the ball between her teeth and neatly flung it back at Leafkit. She liked to play with the kits in her clan. |

Leafkit bounced up trying to reach the moss ball, but she missed. She ended up falling backwards face-first. "Oowps!" she giggled and got up again. She turned around and ran over to the moss ball. Picking it up, she eyes Rainstar and then threw it, but it fell on the ground and rolle the rest of the way to the RiverClan leader.

Rainstar picked up the mouthball in her teeth and flung it at Leafkit making it fall short on purpose. She didn't want the kit thinking that she was perfect because she wasn't. |

Leafkit watched the ball roll, and saw it stop short a tail-length ahead of her. "Swlly Wainstawr!" she laughed and pounced on it. She flicked it into her tiny claw and flung it back to Rainstar. She loved playing with moss; that is what she did when he mother was alive...

Rainstar smiled at her, her attempt to make leafkit laugh had worked. She flicked her paw out and caught the moss easily. She flung it back. "Leafkit are you excited about becoming a apprentice?"She asked she knew that Leafkit was almost old enough to be a apprentice. |

Leafkit nodded, "Can't wrait! Bwut me dwon't want to fwight." The thought of blood scared the poor kit. She shook herself, forgetting about the moss ball. She was reminded when it flew inches above her head. "Owh!" she cried happily, and turned to grab it in her jaws. She spat it out at Rainstar, and watched it roll to her paws.

Rainstar smiled. "Don't worry you won't have to worry about fighting for a while." She soothed the kit. She picked up the mouthball and threw it back at Leafkit not to hard but hard enough to reach her. |

Leafkit was glad. She took a few steps, reaching out with her paw for the moss ball. There were so much things to do as a apprentice--including cleaning the elder's bedding. But that didn't cool down Leafkit's spirits! She was as happy as can be as she chucked the moss ball at Rainstar. "Were woo once a appwentice?" she asked, wondering if her leader was even a kit, let alone a apprentice!

Rainstar laughed quietly "Yes I was once a apprentice I was a kit just like you a long time ago." She smiled at the kit. She grabbed the moth ball in her claw and threw it at Leafkit. |
